As part of the feasibility survey, we created our design for the vacant barns. We followed the client brief to design units that are spacious rather than cram in as many homes as possible. Included in the project, we proposed that the existing farmhouse and flats be upgraded and their building envelopes repaired. Grant funding has been approved to finance the project and we secured planning permission for our design. We are now awaiting the building warrant and a building contractor will be appointed to carry out the work.

We were engaged to design a new, fit-for-purpose interior for the Grade C listed building. The old bank interior had to be ripped out and remodelled into a modern, efficient veterinary practice.

Our innovative design incorporated four purposefully designed new consultation rooms which could also be used for operations and treatment. The client also appointed us to act as project managers for the refit. This meant we were able manage the entire planning process, ensuring quicker approval for our design.

The new premises were officially opened just four months after work started, ensuring minimum disruption and expense to the business.

As a couple who like to socialise and entertain, the original layout of our client’s house in Dunfermline didn’t suit their lifestyle. It had an unusual configuration, with the bedrooms located on the ground floor and all the public rooms situated on the first floor.

The ground floor of the house is now the perfect place to relax, entertain guests or unwind on a lovely summers evening. With their house now the right way up, our clients have the space to suit their sociable lifestyle.

It included plans for 40 camping and campervan pitches, a central hub building and bike hire hub. The masterplan also outlined the employment opportunities and estimated £1.5 million of economic benefit to the area through the construction of the site.

The plan was unanimously approved by the council, marking the first step in the creation of this much needed facility.

Our ambitious design proposed large alterations, with the addition of an entirely new first floor as well as the creation of a single-storey extension at the back of the house.

The transformation of the original bungalow was completed in just four months and the house is almost unrecognisable today. It’s now a stunning three-bedroom house that provides a large, versatile, open-plan contemporary living space for the entire family.

With a stylish new kitchen-dining area together with a relaxed seating area, the extension now fits the lifestyle of modern family living.

Our innovative design won ‘Best Build Outwith the Chapter’ category at the RIAS Stirling Society of Architects Annual Awards in 2016.
